It's been around 5 months I have been taking therapy from you. 

It all started with feeling crumpled. Because of you, I understood how to stand for myself, how I can be enough for myself when my entire family stood against me including my parents and husband. It was a lonely journey and you walked along with me. You have given me the confidence that I don't have to feel guilty to have an opinion, have a voice.  

I had years of disassociation with my parents, child and any close relationship. we had a breakthrough in the last session where I could literally feel in my body. I am healing and it's all because of you.

After every session, I would feel more connected with my body. We discovered so many things on the journey. I started trusting my voice and acknowledging myself more and more. Maybe this is what self love is? 

Today after our session, I slept for 2 hours. In the evening, I went for a walk nearby and I just listened and observed how I felt when a breeze touched my face, hands stomach. How I felt more grounded against the earth. I felt like crying. I allowed myself to. I have never felt more compassionate towards myself. I know that I am healing. The very same instant, I felt so much compassion towards the people around me. It's an example yet again how a healing contributes to a happy family.

I owe it to you. If not for this pandemic, I would have visited you and gave a tight hug ma'am. It takes so much courage to expose yourself to triggers. Loads of gratitude and love to you and the family for holding this space for me and so many people.

Please keep doing what you're doing.

Dear Sangeetha, thank you so much I took the session on a Sunday and we were moving to a new house on Wednesday. Like I told you I used to mindlessly browse doing nothing until the session the next week after the session was the most productive time ever since my pregnancy. The amount of work I was able to do was huge, I could only do it because I was mentally in a happy place only because I feel connected to my own self. I am totally amused about how u narrowed down the issue. I wrote such details about so many things and just a line on the actual issue,I was totally unaware of the actual issue. The way you got things out during the therapy- I am speechless. Thank you from the bottom of my heart

FAQ's

What is somatic therapy ? 

Somatic therapy works gently with your nervous system patterns to release stored trauma, and integrate this experience. It is different from talk therapy in that it is not based on just the cognitive narrative, but what the body stores. We will primary use SIBAM elements - sensations, images, behaviour, affect (emotions) and movement to do his work.

How does it work ? 

We will use various elements of your nervous system to find a place of settling, and then build on that. You will mostly be reporting and observing what's happening in the body, it might take a bit of getting used to, but we have various ways in which we facilitate that. As a therapist, I will guide you so we stay with what comes up and work with it. 

How long will it take ?

One of the things that I get asked frequently is how many sessions may be needed. The way it works is we establish ways of working in the first two sessions and then plan a way forward.

Will this work for me ?

Somatic work is very gentle on the nervous system, so works on most clients. If you are on medication/have a diagnosis please share it ahead of time, and we can work that into the session.

I am not sure I know what the issue is. Will this help ?

Yes,this is what the work does, it can help you untangle and get clarity on certain patterns, many times things that may either be in your cognitive awareness or outside of it. 

What do I need for these sessions ?

A fully charged device, preferably a laptop/computer,
is placed in a stable location like a table. A good audio mic, headphones and stable internet connection. Preferably seated with feet on the ground, like on a chair.
